The New Face of Advertising. Best Ads of 2013

Is it possible to make an ad that is enjoyable to watch, useful and fun?! It seems Kate Spade, Google, and Instagram are just a few examples of company's that are using advertising as a chance to connect and please users rather than annoy.  

We have all had the ads that just seem to pop up exactly at the wrong time. Or the "pop under" advertisements that leave you wondering if you won solitaire? Or the "type in this phrase" to unlock the ad. Or the, you will never be able to find the close button and the music is blasting ad.  

While there are plenty of ads that still can annoy us this holiday season I would like to say a special thanks for the ads that are delighting us.

Kate Spade's new ad lets you do more than watch! It gives you the ability to shop as well. Just like many style blogs these days the ad seems to be curating items in the below carousal to engage the viewer. 

Google Search Reunion

This new Google Ad might just bring tears to your eyes.  Acting almost as a short film rather than an commercial, we see the power of the interconnected world we live in and how crucial being able to search it is. 

Instagram

When most social networks announce they will be advertising, true fans are angry and disappointed.  Well I would have to say the opposite is true for me and Instagram's new ad strategy.  Micharl Kors was the first promoted Instagram ad to go live (see below), and how beautiful was it!?  The purpose of my Instagram account is to take, share and view beautiful images, and their Ad strategy is perfectly in line with those expectations. Touche!
